Indigenous Contemporary Music Program opens

Applications are now open for the latest round of the Indigenous Contemporary Music Program, aimed at increasing development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians and bands throughout Australia.

The Indigenous Contemporary Music program funds Indigenous-led organisations who provide professional industry-based opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians and bands.

Funding will be available under this round for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations undertaking activity in 2022 and 2023, with nearly $400,000 to be provided in 2021-22 and up to $500,000 in 2022-23.

This funding will increase opportunities for many talented performers and help set them up for ongoing professional careers in the Australian and international music industries.

The Indigenous Contemporary Music Program is a $2 million program providing funding over 4 years and is one of 5 measures under the $30.9 million Australian Music Industry Package announced in the 2019-20 Budget.

Applications are open until 11.59pm on 31 January 2022.
