Indonesia and China to Hold G20 Entrepreneurship Roundtable Conference

Indonesia and China plan to hold the G20 Entrepreneurship Roundtable Conference (ERC). The G20 ERC aims to support the development of sustainable and inclusive entrepreneurship, as well as the creation of more stable employment.

The plan came out when the Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower, Anwar Sanusi, held a bilateral meeting with the Chinese delegation on the side-lines of the first day of the 6th Meeting of the G20 Employment Working Group (EWG Meeting) in Bali (12/9/ 2022).

Anwar Sanusi explained, Indonesia as the G20 EWG Presidency will collaborate with the Chinese Government to conduct a G20 ERC side event on October 20, 2022 in a hybrid manner in Indonesia and China. This event will involve G20 member countries, international organizations, entrepreneurs, academia, and other stakeholders associated to entrepreneurship issues and job opportunities expansion.

"Currently, the ERC and Indonesian Government are conducting discussions to finalize the event and determine the panellists who will be involved, as well as contributions to the event," he said.

He explained that the G20 ERC idea emerged as a support for priority issues raised by the Indonesia G20 Presidency in the G20 EWG forum, particularly the issue of sustainable job creation towards a changing world of work. Through this event, the delegates are expected to be able to explore more effective methodologies and best practices in promoting entrepreneurship, in order to expand job creation is applicable in G20 countries.

"In addition, we hope that the joint work between G20 member countries can be further strengthened and expanded to mutually commit in supporting the development of each country's entrepreneurship," he said.

In addition to the G20 ERC, this bilateral meeting also discussed about strengthening cooperation in following up on Adaptive Labor Protection, as well as strengthening cooperation in the field of employment with the Chinese Government in increasing human resource capacity for functional Industrial Relations Mediator employees.
