On behalf of the United States of America, I extend our congratulations to the people of Indonesia on the occasion of your Independence Day.
The United States and Indonesia enjoy a strong strategic partnership enhanced by our shared commitment to democracy and the close ties between our peoples. I commend Indonesia's work in facilitating growth and building a resilient future through your Chairmanship of ASEAN this year. I was pleased to participate in the U.S.-ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference, East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers' Meeting, and ASEAN Regional Forum, as well as the U.S.-Indonesia Strategic Dialogue, in Jakarta in July. The United States looks forward to many more years of collaboration as we work towards a free and open, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
