Industry panel report to shape 2020 Cyber Security Strategy

The Morrison Government welcomes the report from the 2020 Cyber Security Strategy Industry Advisory Panel.

Minister for Home Affairs Peter Dutton thanked the Panel and the Chair Andrew Penn, CEO of Telstra, for its ongoing partnership and commitment to protecting Australians online.

"This is just one example of the Government's commitment to continuous industry consultation," Mr Dutton said.

"Feedback from business, the community and the Industry Advisory Panel will inform the development of the 2020 Cyber Security Strategy."

"The Government will carefully consider the report's recommendations before releasing the 2020 Cyber Security Strategy in the coming months."

"The Panel has played a key advisory role for Government, meeting 13 times since established in November 2019," Mr Dutton said.

"There is no doubt the cyber threat landscape is evolving and it's more critical than ever that government, business and the broader community work together to protect Australian's online."

The Panel is chaired by Andrew Penn, CEO of Telstra; with Robert Mansfield AO, Chair of Vocus Group; Robyn Denholm, Chair of Tesla; Chris Deeble AO CSC, Chief Executive of Northrop Grumman Australia; former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen; and Darren Kane, Chief Security Officer NBN Co as members.
