Information caravan following Deer Park death

Police will set up an information caravan in Deer Park today as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of a man in the suburb last month, Victoria Police say.

The body of 49-year-old Deer Park man The Phong Vuong was located inside a residential property on Erin Square about 4.25pm on 26 June.

Investigators believe The Vuong may have been deceased at the premises for more than week before being discovered by a visitor and neighbour.

The death is being treated as suspicious and Homicide Squad detectives have established that The Vuong died as a result of gunshot wounds.

Witnesses have reported to police of hearing possible gun shots at the address.

The Vuong was last seen in the evening of Thursday, 15 June and police are keen to speak to anyone who noticed any unusual activity in the area in the lead up to his death.

This includes any vehicles parked near the property or any suspicious activity by people around the property.

Police believe The was running a sewing or textile type business from the premises, and investigators are also appealing for anyone who may have had business dealings with or knew The Vuong to come forward.

An information caravan will be set up at Erin Square between midday and 6pm today (7 July).

Anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is encouraged to attend the caravan and speak to investigators.

Anyone with any information can also contact Crime Stoppers.
