Information Sessions Help You Apply for a Community Grant

Applications for Council's Community Grants program for 2020/2021 open on 10 February and Council is running information sessions to help people with their applications.

Whitehorse Mayor Councillor Sharon Ellis said community groups running programs or activities that meet the grant criteria and benefit the wider Whitehorse community are eligible to apply for a grant.

"This is a major way that Council supports our not-for-profit community groups each year. The grants allow organisations to keep up their great work so that the wider community benefits," Cr Ellis said.

"Organisations can put their funding towards a wide variety of initiatives such as social programs for pre-schoolers and adults, sport and recreation, health and wellbeing, and social support programs for older people."

Grants in previous years have provided support to enhance a range of services, program provider and activities including neighbourhood houses, toy libraries, seniors groups and community festivals.

Applications are accepted via SmartyGrants, an efficient, simple and user-friendly online application system. Applications close on Friday 13 March 2020 at 12 noon.

Council's information sessions listed below will cover the types of grants available and the application process.

When: Tuesday 25 February 2020, 1pm-2.30pm OR 6pm-7.30pm
