Devonport CIB are investigating reports of burglary and stealing matters in West Devonport over the last three weeks.
Police have received several reports that a man described as around 165cm tall, of slim build, with short grey hair, wearing trackpants and a jumper has door knocked businesses and residential premises asking if work is required. It is alleged that when the man has left the premises, items have been identified as stolen including wallets, electrical devices and other items of value.
As part of the ongoing investigation a 41-year-old Devonport man is currently in police custody assisting with enquiries.

Police encourage anyone who is approached by someone they don't know who is offering works to decline, and to never let a stranger into your residence.
