Injured man identified, NSW

Police have identified a man injured at Town Hall Railway Station last night.

The man was found just before 11pm (Friday 28 December 2018), after he was seen to fall about 10 metres down an escalator guide rail, before hitting a metal pole.

He suffered a broken jaw, facial lacerations and broken teeth and was taken to St Vincent's Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Following inquiries, officers from Police Transport Command identified him as a 21-year-old man from the Bankstown area.

Police would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance.
