Inquiries continue after man abducted from Yagoona found shot

Police are investigating after a man was reportedly abducted and shot overnight.

Just before 11.30pm (Thursday 31 October 2019), police were called to Cooper Road, Yagoona, after a man had reportedly been assaulted and forced into a vehicle.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Just after midnight (Friday 1 November 2019), emergency services were called to McPherson Lane, Carlton, after reports a man had been injured.

Officers from St George Police Area Command attended and found a 25-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds.

He has been treated by paramedics and taken to hospital where he will undergo surgery.

A crime scene has been established while officers continue inquiries into the incident.

A second crime scene has been established in Bibby Street, Carlton, after police were called to a vehicle alight just before 12.30am.

Fire & Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.

Detectives are currently investigating if the incidents are linked.
