Inquiries continue into fatal crash near Berry, NSW

Inquiries continue after a fatal crash north of Berry today, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Princes Highway, about 1km from Berry, about 11.45am today, after reports a southbound car and northbound truck crashed.

The driver of a Holden Astra, a 39-year-old woman, and a rear seat passenger, a boy aged approximately 12, died at the scene.

The front seat passenger of the Astra, a girl aged approximately 14, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Sydney Children’s Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The occupants of the Astra are understood to be from Queensland.

The driver of the truck, a 41-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for treatment to shock. He was taken to Shellharbour Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Officers from Shoalhaven Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Crash Investigators will investigate the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.

Inquiries are continuing.
