Inquiries continue into string of suspicious fires at Brewarrina

Police are appealing for information after a house was destroyed by one of several suspicious fires in the state's north west.

Between 2.50am and 6am Wednesday (16 October 2019), multiple fires were lit in the vicinity of Narran Street at Brewarrina.

About 2.50am, the local fire brigade responded to reports of a bin fire at Cato Street, followed by a house fire at Narran Street shortly after.

As emergency services responded to the house fire, they received reports of a grass fire a short distance away in Culgoa Street.

The house was destroyed by fire.

About 5.40am, emergency services responded to reports of another grass fire in Culgoa Street which was extinguished by the local fire brigade.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fires.

Officers from Central North Police District commenced inquiries into the fires, all believed to be deliberately lit.
