Inquiries continue to identify man after Canley Heights carjacking

Police are appealing for information to identify a man who might be able to assist with inquiries into the theft of a car and cash at Canley Heights this morning.

Around 8.10am (Thursday 29 August 2019), a 62-year-old woman was driving a grey Honda Accord Euro along Kiora Street Canley Heights.

As she was getting out of her car, a man grabbed her arm and took a quantity of cash she was holding. The pair struggled for a short time before the woman saw the man drive off in her car.

The Honda has NSW registration plates of CP-58-NN.

The woman sustained minor bruising and did not require further treatment.

Detectives from Fairfield Police Area Command would like to speak with a man who might be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid-30s, of medium build, with untidy medium length hair and 175cm tall. When he was last seen, the man was wearing light blue jeans and an off-white shirt.
