Northern Grampians Shire residents who are interested in learning tips and tricks to further their event-hosting skills can benefit from a workshop in Stawell next week.
Council's Community Development, Events and Tourism teams will deliver an interactive event planning session called 'Everything you need to know about hosting successful events'.
The session will be on Wednesday, March 11 in North Park Function Room from 6pm to 7.30pm.
Mayor Karen Hyslop said the municipality was blessed to have so many groups and organisations keen to host events for the benefit of residents and to help the region prosper.
"This interactive planning session is not only for those who already host events and are looking for ways to improve them, but also for people who are interested in running events in the future," she said.
"It is a great opportunity to hear from a group of specialists and learn about everything you should consider and plan for to ensure your event is a successful one."
Cr Hyslop said council staff would be available to share their knowledge and advice, helping to break down some common areas of concern.
The interactive session will use a fictitious event and cover areas such as:
- Simple, practical steps to plan an event.
- Permits and registrations, what is needed and when.
- Emergency management plans and risk assessments.
- Waste options and sustainability tips.
- How council can support and amplify events in the shire.
