Announcement from AMA SA President A/Prof Peter Subramaniam
On behalf of the Board of AMA SA, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Anderson B.Ec, B.Ed, MBA, GAICD as Interim Chief Executive Officer.
Paul has started this week with AMA SA.
Paul brings extensive management experience across health, legal, professional services, government, and the not-for-profit sector. He has previously served as CEO of Mellor Olsson Lawyers, Fertility SA, and the SA Government Department of Sport & Recreation. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a facilitator for many of their programs. He is a seasoned board director, having previously chaired Partners Board at Mellor Olsson Lawyers, and has current board positions with Burnside War Memorial Hospital and Sports Med Orthopaedic Clinics.
Paul will serve in the role of Interim CEO while the Board undertakes the recruitment process for a permanent full-time CEO. The Board has engaged Hender Consulting to lead this recruitment, which is already underway. We anticipate an appointment within the next three to four months, though the timeframe will ultimately depend on securing the right candidate to continue the important work of the AMA SA.
During this period of transition, members can be assured that all AMA SA services, advocacy programs, committee functions, and corporate partnership initiatives will continue without interruption. The Board remains focused on advancing AMA SA's role at this important time for the South Australian health system.
As we welcome Paul as our interim CEO, we again thank our outgoing CEO, Nicole Sykes, for her leadership of the AMA SA team in the last 2 years.
