Now in its 23rd year, BASSINTHEGRASS remains the Northern Territory's biggest and longest-running music festival. The 2025 event generated nearly $10 million in economic stimulus, with more than 11,000 attendees passing through the gates.
Minister for Tourism and Hospitality and Minister for Major Events Marie-Clare Boothby said the expanded lineup cements BASSINTHEGRASS as one of Australia's standout and thriving music events.
"This lineup takes BASSINTHEGRASS to another level," she said.
"We know thousands travel to Darwin for this event every year, filling hotels, restaurants and local tourism operators. It delivers real economic benefit while showcasing the Territory as a vibrant place to visit."
"With the AFL also in town, including the SUNS v Port Adelaide clash on Friday 15 May, we're encouraging visitors to come for the footy, stay for BASSINTHEGRASS, and experience a long weekend in the Top End".
"And there really is something for everyone, even my boys are excited about some of the big names coming."
Lead singer of The Living End Chris Cheney said the band was excited to return.
"I can't believe it's been 12 years since the last time we played BASSINTHEGRASS. Can't wait to come back and blast through some tracks from our brand-new album 'I Only Trust Rock n Roll' along with all the old faves. See yas soon Darwin."
