Lake Macquarie City Council
From late May, the priority at the intersection of Withers and Carrington streets, West Wallsend will change to Give Way restrictions on Carrington Street.
The intersection is currently controlled by Stop restrictions on Withers Street.
The change was initially raised by the community while Council was developing the West Wallsend Heritage Area Master Plan. The main concern from the community was in regard to sight distance for north bound vehicles turning into Carrington Street, which could often be constrained by parked vehicles.
The change in priority to Give Way restrictions on Carrington Street will improve traffic safety for motorists and the community.
