Introducing 'Kops in Kilts' to schools and vocational care

The Queensland Police Pipes & Drums (QPP&D) perform our ‘Kops in Kilts’ Program at schools and vacational care, as we strongly believe in strengthening ties between the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and our youth, Queensland Police say.

Today we visited Upper Ross PCYC to share our program with some Townsville kids.

Although our current ‘Kops in Kilts’ program is tailored to suit primary school children, it can also be modified to target a much younger audience, such as children in child care. This form of performance is both educational and entertaining. We are continually evolving and always looking to improve our performances.

The ‘Kops and Kilts’ program is a free 45 minute concert, comprised of traditional and modern pipe band music as well as some children’s favourites (Limbo Rock, The Mexican Hat Dance and Bob the Builder). The performances are interactive with students given the opportunity to play percussion instruments.

We are proud to play at the top of our abilities using the universal power of music and positive interaction to successfully engage with our community!
