Investigation after fireworks detonated towards Port Macquarie Police Station

Police are appealing for public assistance after fireworks were detonated outside Port Macquarie Police Station last weekend.

About 3.30am on Saturday (29 August 2020), a group of males have set up four fireworks on a grassed area across from the police station on Hay Street, before they were detonated in the direction of the building.

Upon hearing the fireworks, officers from Mid North Coast Police District conducted a patrol of the nearby area and commenced inquiries.

As detectives continue their investigation, police are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Port Macquarie town centre between 3am and 4am on Saturday 29 August, or who may have CCTV or dashcam from the nearby area to contact Port Macquarie Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
