Investigation continues into Collingwood incident

Yarra Crime Investigation Unit Detectives have arrested a Cranbourne man in relation to Sunday morning’s affray on Mater Street, Victoria Police say.

The 18-year-old man was arrested yesterday during a search warrant at his property.

The man was interviewed and released, pending further investigation.

Police have been told up to 200 people were leaving an event at a licensed premises’ in Smith Street near Mater Street when a fight broke out about 2.45am.

Police are also investigating the circumstances after a vehicle crashed into parked cars and struck a pedestrian at the time of the incident.

Those injured include:

18-year-old Fitzroy man, sustained serious leg injuries as a result from vehicle collision.

18-year-old Richmond man, sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result from the affray

21-year-old Footscray man, sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result from the affray

26-year-old man of no fixed place of address sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the affray.

18-year-old man of no fixed place of address sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the affray.

21-year-old Cranbourne man, sustained minor injuries as a result of the affray.

18-year-old Cranbourne North man, sustained minor injuries as a result of the affray.
