Investigation continues into Maffra firearms incident

Wellington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance as part of their ongoing investigation into a firearms incident in Maffra earlier this year.

Investigators believe two men on a motorcycle stopped on McAdam Street and fired a single shot towards a property on Blyth Street just before 7.30am on 14 March.

The bullet struck a car parked in the carport of the residence.

Although the car was unoccupied, six people were home at the time, including a 31-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, and four children aged 18, 13, nine and one.

It is believed the two men then fled on the bike along McAdam Street at a fast rate of speed.

Investigators have released CCTV of a motorcycle and two men who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

Both offenders are believed to be male, the rider was wearing a helmet, but the passenger was not.

Both were wearing dark clothing on top and light clothing on the bottom.

Investigators are urging anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
