Police are investigating after reports of shots fired near Kempsey today, NSW Police say.
Just after 10.30am (Wednesday 21 March 2018), officers from the Mid North Coast Police District were called to Middleton Street, South Kempsey, following reports shots had been fired.
There have been no reports of injuries or property damage. No firearm has been recovered at this time.
Officers seized a baseball bat and machete and arrested a 39-year-old man nearby.
He was taken to Kempsey Police Station as police continue with their inquiries.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
