Investigation underway following crash in Moama

Police are investigating following a two-vehicle crash in Moama last night, NSW Police say.

Officers attached to Deniliquin Local Area Command were patrolling Meninya Street and were stopped by a member of the public in relation to a fallen tree about 9.50pm (Monday 27 November 2017).

Police observed a motorcyclist allegedly speeding and activated their warning devices in attempt to have the motorcycle pull over; however did not continue to follow the motorcycle as it accelerated away.

The motorcycle and a car collided at the intersection of Echuca and Meninya streets a short time later.

The rider, a 21-year-old man, was taken to Echuca Base Hospital in a stable condition before being transferred to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

No one in the car was injured.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
