Investigation underway into attempted armed robbery at Moree

An investigation is underway after an alleged attempted armed robbery at a motel in the state's north overnight.

About 10.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 27 November 2019), staff from a motel on Mungindi Road at Moree were confronted by two unknown offenders believed to be a male and a female.

It is alleged the pair threatened the staff with a weapon while demanding property.

After a short confrontation with staff, the pair left empty handed and were last seen running west towards Mungindi Road.

No staff were injured during the incident.

Officers attached to New England Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Inquiries continue.
