Investigation underway into suspicious fire at Albury

An investigation is underway following a suspicious fire at a property in the state's south.

About 10.30am yesterday (Monday 2 March 2020), officers from Murray River Police District attended a property on Kestrel Street, North Albury, following reports of a fire.

Upon arrival, the grass in the backyard – as well as a vehicle and assorted items – were well alight.

The blaze was extinguished by NSW Fire and Rescue. No persons were injured as a result of the fire.

Police established a crime and are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the vicinity of Kestrel Street, Albury to come forward.
