Investigations continue into death of Nicole Cartwright, NSW

Police are continuing to appeal for information that may assist with inquiries into the death of a woman whose body was found in a reserve on Sydney’s North Shore earlier this month, NSW Police say.

About 7.30am on Wednesday 3 October 2018, police were called to Pittwater Road, Hunters Hill, after the body of a woman was found by a council worker in Buffalo Creek Reserve.

A post-mortem examination was inconclusive, and further tests are being conducted to determine how she died.

The woman was formally identified as 32-year-old, Nicole Cartwright. She was farewelled by friends and family at a service at Gledswood yesterday (Wednesday 24 October 2018).

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad and Ryde Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death under Strike Force Winkurra.

As their inquiries continue, detectives are re-appealing to the community for information to piece together Ms Cartwright’s movements in the days leading up to her death.

Strike force detectives have already spoken with a large number of people, who have provided significant information.

While police have been able to account for her whereabouts for most of the long weekend (Friday 28 to Sunday 30 September 2018), they are still seeking information from then until the day her body was located.

Anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Winkurra investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
