Investigations underway after fatal crash in state’s north

Police are investigating after a fatal crash in the state’s north this morning.

Shortly before 2am (Tuesday 7 December 2021), emergency services were called to Clarence Way, Malabugilmah, approximately 80km north of Grafton, following reports of a single-vehicle collision.

Officers from Richmond Police District attended a short time later and located a teenage boy deceased at the scene; he is yet to be formally identified.

Police established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the incident.

Officers spoke with a 28-year-old man, who identified himself as the sole passenger in the vehicle, he is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
