Investigations underway following crash in Cammeray

Police are appealing for witnesses following a multi-vehicle crash in Cammeray this morning, NSW Police say.

About 8.50am today, officers attached to Harbourside Local Area Command were called to Miller Street, following reports of a crash.

Initial inquiries have led police to believe a bus was left the road way, striking a tree, which was pushed into a shop awning, before driving onto a pedestrian strip, and hitting two parked cars and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man believed to be aged in his 60s, was treated at the scene and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where he remains in a serious, but stable, condition.

A female passenger in the bus and four bystanders were taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The male driver of the bus was also taken by Ambulance Paramedics to the same hospital; however, his condition is unknown.

Officers attached to Crash Investigation Unit are at the scene and will work with local police to investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident.

Witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are urged to come forward and contact Crime Stopers.
