Police have charged a 20-year-old man following a stolen vehicle incident in Ipswich yesterday 23 July.
Just before 8.40am, police were called to Pine Mountain Road at Brassall after reports a stolen Honda HR-V struck the rear of a Hyundai I40 and left the scene.
Ipswich police, with assistance from Polair, tracked the stolen Honda throughout Ipswich, before a Tyre Deflation Device (TDD) was successfully deployed, causing the vehicle to come to a stop on Quarry Street.
The driver and sole occupant, a 20-year-old Brassall man, fled the scene on foot and climbed onto the roof of a property, where he was subsequently arrested.
It will be alleged the vehicle attempted to evade police on various occasions resulting in a number of police vehicles sustaining damage.
A 20-year-old Brassall man has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possess dangerous drugs and one count each of evade police, enter dwelling and commit, trespass and unlicenced driving.
He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
