IT'S ALL ABOUT BASSINTHEGRASS19

The 2019 BASSINTHEGRASS event will move to an exciting new site at Mindil Beach allowing for a bigger and better event with an additional stage and an expanded artist line-up on Saturday 18 May 2019.

BASSINTHEGRASS 2019 will be a turbocharged festival experience with more entertainment, hospitality and facilities for attendees. The Mindil site allows for a significant increase in attendance capacity and future growth of the event.

The Territory Labor Governments record $103 million turbocharging tourism stimulus package will boost the 2019 event to maximise its appeal to a national visitor market. It will be accompanied by a new interstate marketing program to attract more interstate visitors.

An expanded artist line-up, tickets on sale and more information on the event will be revealed in the coming months.

In line with other major events such as the Darwin Triple Crown Supercars, NT Major Events will be developing activities and initiatives around the BASSINTHEGRASS Festival for the first time in 2019 to increase tourism from the event and give visitors a reason to stay longer and spend more.

Prices will continue to remain affordable for the Territory community with the first release tickets to be on sale prior to Christmas.

As stated by the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Lauren Moss

BASSINTHEGRASS is a much-loved Territory institution and a highpoint on young Territorians social calendar. We are very excited to be giving it a boost as part of the Territory Labor Governments record $103 million Turbocharging Tourism stimulus which will see it become a fixture on the national music calendar, attracting more young people to the Territory to enjoy this unique event.

BASSINTHEGRASS 2019 will be the biggest event in its seventeen year history and the largest music festival ever held in the NT.

The expansion of BASSINTHEGRASS is fantastic for the local Darwin community who will not only see the tourism benefits from an expanded festival but also now have even more music and entertainment to experience themselves.

As part of Turbocharging Tourism, we are investing in our events and festivals because we know that they bring visitors to the Territory, putting money into the economy and creating jobs.
