Jack Road access restricted during works

Motorists are advised to avoid Jack Road, Cheltenham, as work ramps up on the road reconstruction project. With kerb, drainage and driveway works almost complete, residents and motorists can look forward to a new and improved road surface in May.

Access to Jack Road, which intersects Bay Road and Park Road in Cheltenham, is currently restricted to residents only. However, the road will be completely closed to all vehicles during upcoming reconstruction works, with traffic management in place.

Bus diversions

Buses that usually travel along Jack Road have been diverted to alternate routes. Please see the PTV website or app for details. These traffic management measures and detours will remain in place for the duration of this project to ensure the safety of residents and contractors.

Jack Road residents with mobility issues who cannot get to the diverted bus stops are encouraged to contact Council on (03) 9599 4444 for support.

Bayside City Council continues to work closely with the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) to minimise disruption to the Pennydale/Cheltenham community and appreciates everyone's patience during this time. Thanks to community cooperation, the project is expected to be completed ahead of schedule in May.

Work together to stay safe

Bayside City Council is continuing to provide planned construction and maintenance programs during the COVID-19 outbreak as per current advice from the state and federal governments.

Our contractors and staff on work sites are operating in accordance with Victorian Department of Health and Human Services' (VDHHS) guidelines to reduce the spread of the virus. Please ensure a safe distance of 1.5 metres is kept between yourself and workers at all times.
