Kiama Council

Kiama Council has met with firms interested in doing the work to repair Jamberoo Mountain Rd, to give them a first-hand look at the extent of the job to get the road reopened.

The site visit was done before tenders have to be lodged on 2 December.

The tenders will be assessed by both Council engineers and the NSW Government, which is funding the work.

The successful tenderer will then be formally approved at our Council Meeting on 20 December.

Once that is done repair work can start in the New Year.

This will take several months.

All residents, locals and road users are reminded Jamberoo Mountain Road remains closed as it is unstable, severely damaged and not fit for general traffic.

The road closure is between Misty Lane and The Abbey.

Council has written to the NSW Government to seek the reclassification of Jamberoo Mountain Road as a state road.
