Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing boy Jaye Rossetto.
The 16-year-old was last at his school in Melton on Wednesday afternoon about 2.30.
Police hold concerns for his welfare due to his age.
Jaye is described as short with a solid build and short hair.
He was last seen wearing a black puffer jacket, grey long sleeve shirt, black baseball cap, blue jeans and red and black basketball shoes.
Police have released an image of Jaye in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his whereabouts.
He is known to frequent the Woodgrove Shopping Centre, Melton Railway Station and Melton area.
Anyone who sights Jaye or who knows of his whereabouts is urged to contact Melton Police Station on 9747 7999.
