Jewellery stolen from elderly couple - Condell Park

Police are searching for three men involved in the robbery of an elderly couple at Condell Park this afternoon.

About 2.10pm (Monday 5 August 2019), a 77-year-old resident was sitting on the front veranda of his Simmat Avenue home when he was approached by three men.

Two of the men entered the property and approached the resident on his veranda, one of them produced a knife.

They threatened the resident and took him inside where they gained access to his safe.

They stole an amount of jewellery before running from the home with the third man who was waiting outside.

The trio was last seen heading south towards Townsend Street before turning left in the direction of Edgar Street, Condell Park.

The resident and his 77-year-old wife, who was also home at the time of the robbery, were not hurt.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended the home and commenced inquiries.

The first man – who was armed with a knife - has been described as Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance, wearing a white hooded jumper covering his head, grey track pants with white runners and a black satchel bag.

The second man has also been described as Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance wearing a black hooded jumper and black track pants and white runners.

The third man has been described as Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance with a slim build and he was wearing a white jumper with black or blue sleeves, black track pants and white runners.

Police are calling for anyone who may have been in the area of Simmat Avenue or Townsend Avenue in Condell Park between 2 -2.20pm (Monday 5 August 2019), or who may have CCTV or dash-cam vision, is urged to contact Bankstown Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
