The new and improved Tyrolean Village and East Jindabyne trail network is almost complete, with work now underway on the final stages of the Jindabyne Shared Trail project.
Closures will continue as required until all work is complete. Please be alert for workers, barricades, and other hazards out on the trails.
Since the July update
- Mill Creek Trail 80% complete, rolling closures as work continues
- Emergency access roads almost finished, awaiting sign off
- Installation of weather and water-resistant decomposed granite trail material to frost-affected areas of the trail network
- Carpark construction complete, waiting on certification
- Trail bridges very close to complete, minor works remain
- Final touch-up and remediation works underway on multiple trails, some closures required
Still to come
- Signs, maps, and other wayfinding elements are in progress
- Construction of pedestrian access stairs to begin soon
- Minor redesign and rerouting of the bottom end of the existing Pink Trail and new Gang Gang Trail to remove crossover hazard
There have been several very close calls between riders and workers in the last few weeks. Council is asking all trail users to please keep off closed trails and out of active construction sites. It's for your safety and the safety of the local workers too.
New trail maps and signs are currently being designed for manufacture. The new maps will include updated trail ratings, whether trails are shared or for MTB use only, individual trail icons to make it easier for riders to identify trails-and more.
Each trail marker post will have a unique ID number that will be registered with emergency services agencies. In the event of an incident, trail users can provide 000 with the marker ID to direct first responders to their exact location.
Council appreciates the community's support and continued patience as we approach the end of this major project. We'll have more news to share very soon.
