  • Minister for Training and Skills

The Andrews Labor Government is making it easier for industry experts to find jobs in Victoria's booming TAFE sector, with a new Jobs at TAFE website.

Minister for Training and Skills Gayle Tierney joined Member for Box Hill Paul Hamer to launch the new website at Box Hill Institute, where they met teachers training the next generation in cyber security in the Certificate IV in Cyber Security Free TAFE course.

The Jobs at TAFE website brings together all TAFE teaching and administrative jobs from across Victoria to a single location.

People interested in working at TAFE can register to become part of the Jobs at TAFE community and receive job alerts, search for jobs in the industries they work in, and apply for advertised roles.

Thousands of Victorians are on the way to getting the skills they need to secure jobs in high-demand industries, with more than 19,000 students commenced in Free TAFE courses so far this year, driving a doubling of commencements in these courses compared to the same time last year.

More than 1,500 students have begun their training in Free TAFE courses at Box Hill Institute this year, a 128 per cent increase compared to the same time last year.

Box Hill Institute is offering 31 Free TAFE courses across its three campuses, including the Certificate IV in Cyber Security, Diploma of Nursing, and Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping.

Students can save up to $2,500 for some pre-apprenticeship courses and up to $5,000 for Certificate IV courses. For higher-level courses such as a Diploma in Nursing or a Diploma in Building and Construction, students will save more than $10,000 through the Free TAFE initiative.
