Jobs on offer at Alice Springs Jobs Fair

Healthcare and social assistance will be two of the many sectors with job opportunities on offer at the Morrison Government's Alice Springs Jobs Fair at the Alice Springs Convention Centre.

Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills, Small and Family Business, the Hon Stuart Robert MP, said jobs fairs promote a wide range of employment opportunities for job seekers.

'The Morrison Government is committed to connecting job seekers with businesses looking to hire, as we continue our recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic,' Minister Robert said.

'Creating jobs and boosting the skills of Australians to help them get back into work is at the heart of our Economic Recovery Plan.'

Assistant Minister for Youth and Employment Services, the Hon Luke Howarth MP, said the Alice Springs Jobs Fair would help to ensure that appropriately qualified and skilled local job seekers have the chance to fill jobs in a range of industries including healthcare and social assistance.

'This jobs fair is one way of ensuring that young people from Alice Springs are given the best possible chance to fill local vacancies, which also include apprenticeships,' Assistant Minister Howarth said.

'The jobs on offer at the Alice Springs Jobs Fair varies from aged and disability care, tourism and hospitality, childcare and education, and security and office administration. These sectors will all play a key role in securing local jobs for local people.'

Senator for the Northern Territory, Dr Sam McMahon, said the Morrison Government's ongoing commitment to creating more jobs will set Australia up for future prosperity.

'Our plan to connect local job seekers with work will help Australia bounce back stronger than ever after the COVID-19 pandemic,' Senator McMahon said.

'Our community is working hard to support its businesses and job seekers to take advantage of new employment opportunities as our economic recovery gathers pace.'

More than 56,000 people have attended the Morrison Government's Jobs Fairs, which have been held around Australia since July 2018.

The Alice Springs Jobs Fair is at the Alice Springs Convention Centre, 93 Barrett Drive, Alice Springs from 10.30 am to 3 pm on Tuesday 16 November.
