Jobseekers encouraged to register for jobs expo at Bendigo Town Hall

Jobseekers are encouraged to register for the Bendigo Jobs Expo where a range of exciting new job opportunities will be showcased on Wednesday December 7 at Bendigo Town Hall.

The Bendigo Jobs Expo is ideal if you are looking for ongoing employment, apprenticeships and traineeships, summer jobs, extra cash before Christmas, or are seeking work to cover a gap year before entering tertiary education. It is also suitable if you've had a career break and are looking to return to the workforce.

Jobseekers are encouraged to register for one of the two sessions available at the expo taking place between 2pm and 4pm or from 5pm to 7pm.

City of Greater Bendigo Manager Economic Development Ben Devanny said the City was supporting the Jobs Expo to highlight the variety of jobs in the region.

"The Bendigo Jobs Expo at the Bendigo Town Hall will showcase a diverse range of jobs to suit different skills, needs and wants," Mr Devanny said.

"Companies are actively recruiting, and the Bendigo Jobs Expo is a chance to explore employment options from a variety of industries and sectors together with training schemes and available apprenticeships.

"It's a great opportunity to talk to 30 businesses and organisations that will be exhibiting at the show.

"The City is supporting the expo because it is becoming increasingly important for businesses to be able to connect with jobseekers when we're seeing lower rates of unemployment and over a 200 per cent increase in online job adverts between March 2020 through to September 2022.

"According to the latest statistics from the Victorian Skills Authority, around 12,850 new roles will be required in the Loddon Campaspe region by 2025.

"Building skills in the workforce and showcasing great job opportunities in the region continue to be priorities in strengthening the region's local economy and supporting local businesses.

"The Bendigo Jobs Expo will have over 300 immediate job opportunities available and exhibitors are keen to talk to jobseekers of all ages.

"I encourage people to register as there will be two sessions for the expo. The first session will be held from 2pm to 4pm and the second session will be held from 5pm to 7pm.

"The Bendigo Jobs Expo is an ideal place to start if you are seeking full or part time work, returning to the workforce or are looking for a traineeship or apprenticeship.

"There are also temporary jobs to cover Christmas and the summer holidays, and gap year work for students who are planning to take a break from studies.

"The free Bendigo Jobs Expo is a must for jobseekers. Register and come along to find the right job for you."
