Are you a community group looking to expand, improve your messaging or grow your funding for volunteer work?

Bass Coast Shire Council is launching it's 2019/20 Community Training Calendar with the first workshops, 'Expanding Community Connections through Social Media', coming up in September and October.

The Training Calendar includes a number of different topics, chosen after consultation with the community.

"We asked community groups what training they'd like and they told us that learning more about social media, finding grants and dealing with group dynamics would be really helpful," Mayor, Cr Brett Tessari, said.

"These training workshops are free, so I encourage all Bass Coast community groups to get along to this quality training."

Council's Advocacy and Engagement Team will present the social media workshop on Wednesday, 25 September at the Bass Valley Community Hall, and Tuesday, 8 October at the Newhaven Community Hall. Both sessions start at 5.30pm and finish around 7.30pm.

Community group members will learn how to use Facebook to engage with and build up their communities.

Future workshops include 'How to Find and Apply for Suitable Grants' and 'Managing Challenging Conversations'. The full Training Calendar can be found at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au/communtytools.
