Jump on knitting bandwagon

Felltimber Community Centre has a rewarding way for you to pass the hours while you continue to spend more time at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Knit squares or completed rugs to donate to the centre as part of this year's winter blanket appeal.

The blankets will be passed on to those most in need this winter.

The craft is said to be great for your mental health as it is a form of meditation and mindfulness.

Felltimber Community Centre co-ordinator Amanda Crisp said the centre had donated many beautiful knitted knee rugs over the years and are looking forward to helping the community again.

"This is a great way to support the community and give back," she said.

"As we are currently closed, this is something the community can still be involved in from home and encourage others too.

"Volunteers will help put the squares together to create knee rugs."

Resources are available including needles and wool.
