Justine Schofield to tick off a bucket list item at the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, plus a sneak peek into her Farm to Fork Showcase at the Festival of Food & Wine

Appearing at the Festival of Food & Wine at this year's Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is a bucket list experience for Australian famed foodie and Everyday Gourmet's Justine Schofield, with the visit a first ever for her to Toowoomba!

Ahead of her Festival of Food and Wine demonstrations, Justine revealed that the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers "is actually a bucket list item I can finally tick off" and one that she gets to do while doing her favourite things - visiting regional Australia, and cooking!

When asked what she was looking forward to most, she said that with a new-born and young family, her travel itinerary has had to change a little, but her staples stayed the same.

"I'm looking forward to visiting Toowoomba for the architecture, the coffee culture, to talk to the locals, and of course the food and the gardens!" She added that you'll most likely find her at one of the city's wonderful historic pubs chatting to locals about the best spots for coffee, dinner, and local produce. "

Above all she said it's the petals she can't wait to see. "It's all about the flowers, and I'll be looking for my favourites the tulip."

Justine will host six Farm to Fork showcases at the Festival of Food and Wine, with a focus on what's in season for Spring. A champion of local produce, she has also shared one of her Spring go-to dishes: Penne with zucchini crema.

"Anything that includes fresh, green veggies is a must, including zucchinis and zucchini flowers," she said. "Don't overdo it with other ingredients. Focus on the fresh produce, keep it simple and showcase your hero ingredient. Less is more!"

For more recipes and cooking tips, catch Justine Schofield at her Farm to Fork showcase, on Saturday 9 September and Sunday 10 September at the Festival of Food & Wine at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm both days.

The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers' Festival of Food & Wine runs for three mouth-watering days from 8 September to 10 September. The foodie lineup also includes over 20 local food offerings, 15 pop-up local Cellar Doors, feature floral designs, flower crown making, cocktail bars and floral beer options.

And on the music stage, there's a knockout leaderboard of Australian music royalty headlining - Jon Stevens, Eurogliders, Hoodoo Gurus, Sneaky Sound System, Budjerah and other leading and local sound-makers will come together at Queens Park for the three-day celebration.

SO - mark the diary and book somewhere to stay, because this year's Festival of Food & Wine is bursting with sounds, sights and sensational bites. Tickets are ON SALE NOW.
