Metis has over five years' experience delivering data science courses in the United States, as well as more recent expansion of program delivery into Europe and the Middle East. The combination of Kaplan Professional's trusted local presence with the global capability of Metis will enable Australians to learn new skills in an exciting and in-demand field.
Kaplan Professional intends to make the following live online programs available, covering all levels of data science experience:
- Beginner Python & Math for Data Science (beginner) – May 2020
- Introduction to Data Science (intermediate) – quarter 3 2020
- Data Science Bootcamp (intermediate to advanced) – 2021
Kaplan Professional CEO Brian Knight said the impacts of COVID-19 meant it was important to provide Australians with as many opportunities as possible to upskill or reskill online.

"The live online format allows individuals to attend classes from anywhere with a stable internet connection and provides real-time interaction with their instructor, teaching assistant and other participants.
"Metis is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET), so we are the first full-time, immersive data science bootcamp to receive this accreditation. We have to adhere to high levels of standards, including demanding review and approval of curriculum, instructional personnel, instructional delivery, and admissions and student service," he said.

The first program available from May in Australia is the Beginner Python & Math for Data Science program, offering bi-weekly classes with live online instruction over a six-week period. This will be followed by the Introduction to Data Science program in the third quarter of 2020.
The full-time, immersive Data Science Bootcamp is anticipated to be available in 2021, offering daily classes with live online instruction, real-time support and interaction with classmates over a 12-week period.
