Hundreds of Horsham students will have a safer trip to school with electronic speed signs set to be installed around two of the community's busiest primary schools.
Minister for Roads, Road Safety and the TAC Jaala Pulford today announced that flashing speed signs will be installed near school crossings on McPherson Avenue outside St Michael and St John's Primary School and on Natimuk Road near Horsham West and Haven Primary School's Hillary Street campus.
The $155,000 investment will replace existing static signs to provide a clear message to drivers to slow down within school zones to keep kids safe, as part of the Andrews Labor Government's School Area Safety Fund.
The signs will highlight the speed limit during school times to slow drivers down and keep students, families and teachers safe.
It is expected the new electronic signs will be installed by mid-February.
