COVID water samples all clear graphic

As widely reported, Kempsey Shire has recently had two confirmed cases of COVID-19.

To protect the community, the testing of sewage samples has been expanded from known tourist areas to include Kempsey.

We are delighted to announce that Council's Water and Sewer team sampled multiple plants this week within the Shire and we have been advised by NSW Health that it's ALL CLEAR.

No fragments of COVID-19 were detected in sewage samples taken from Kempsey, Frederickton, Crescent Head or South West Rocks.

If you want to monitor the sampling for yourself, you can do so via the NSW Health COVID Stats page. Head to the map, tick Sewage Surveillance in the bottom left corner and then click on a site to see the latest results.

Please continue to stay home, unless it's absolutely essential to leave. Keep each other safe, and stay up to date with the latest from NSW health
