Ken Done exhibition opens at Gallery One

Ken Done's latest exhibition For the Love of Colour was attended by over 100 people on its opening night event held Friday 6 September 2019.

Ken spoke about his 'love of colour' and tales of inspiration for his creative drive. The twenty-one strong exhibition sold a substantial number of paintings on the first night. Ken was accompanied by wife Judy Done and Janine van Heynsbergen, manager of the Ken Done Gallery in Sydney.

"For the Love of Colour firmly places Ken Done as one of Australia's leading colourist painters. It features new work from his electric and highly collectible Reef series, and some iconic work from Ken's personal museum collection.

"Some guests arrived wearing their favourite Ken Done apparel, others were keen collectors, some became acquainted with Ken Done's exuberant colourful paintings for the first time, and some were just long-time friends of the Dones. The evening was a great success with quite a few red dots on the walls," said Gallery One manager Karen Spooner.

His previous exhibition Paintings You Probably Haven't Seen in 2017 was a sell-out show. It runs until the end of the month at Gallery One, located at The Brickworks in Southport.
