Kicking Goals In Kitchen In Casterton

VIC Premier

The Casterton-Sandford Football and Netball Club is serving up something special this season, thanks to much-needed upgrades to its kitchen facilities made possible by the Allan Labor Government.

The club received $50,000 through the Tiny Towns Fund for new kitchen benchtops, cupboards and flooring - setting up the space to support players and fans and the wider community for decades to come.

The upgrades were completed by local builders and suppliers ahead of the 2025 Limestone Coast Football Netball League season, allowing the club to continue to meet health and safety standards, and maintain accreditation as a commercial kitchen this season and beyond.

The history of the club stretches back 150 years to 1875. For the past three decades, the clubrooms have been used on training and game days, as well as for functions, business events, emergency response events and as a backup for the local hospital and aged care facility kitchens.

The Labor Government's Tiny Towns Fund is helping to make football and netball facilities across regional Victoria even better places for the local community to train, play and come together. In Penshurst, the Tiny Towns Fund has helped deliver new flood lights at the local oval to brighten up football training all season and provide a space suitable for community gatherings.

With $47 billion delivered in rural and regional investment in just over a decade, the Labor Government continues to make our tiniest towns even better places to live, work, stay and play.

As stated by Minister for Regional Development Jaclyn Symes

"The Casterton Football Netball Club will continue to be at the heart of the community, supporting local events, organisations, and the future of local sport."

As stated by Member for Western Victoria Jacinta Ermacora

"The upgrades have transformed the clubroom into a more modern space, ensuring that it can service the needs of the local community."

As stated by Casterton-Sandford Football and Netball Club Secretary Andrew Astbury

"This funding has been fantastic for our community and has enabled us to refurbish our kitchen in a few months, instead of a few years - we thank the subcommittee, volunteers and suppliers for completing the project before the start of 2025 season."
