Year One students are invited to join The Hills Shire Library Service’s popular Year One Reading Club from the 1st of March 2021.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne, said the club was a great way to start your child’s journey into habitual reading.
“Knowing how to read is such a vital life skill,” Mayor Byrne said.
“The Year One Reading Club is fun, and encourages children to keep reading. The more they visit the library, the more incentives they will receive,” Mayor Byrne added.
Year One Reading Club members can borrow books from either Baulkham Hills, Dural or Vinegar Hill Memorial (at Rouse Hill Town Centre) Libraries. Castle Hill Library is temporarily closed for refurbishments and will re-open on April 20.
Students can also access ebooks via The Hills Shire Library App, which is available to download for FREE from the App Store or Google Play.
Children will receive a log book upon signing up to the club and a sticker each time they borrow. They will also receive rewards throughout their time in the Club, including:
- Pencil case;
- Bookmark; and
- Completion Certificate.
Rewards are only available while stocks last and are subject to change.
