A man has been charged with 55 offences after St Marys police investigated multiple allegations of kidnap, extortion and drug-related offences, NSW Police say.
Detectives from St Marys Local Area Command formed Strike Force Atone in January 2017 to investigate dozens of alleged offences in Sydney’s north-west.
As a consequences of on-going inquiries, detectives yesterday, arrested a 36-year-old man at Silverwater.
He was he was charged with 55 offences including:
- Kidnap in company with intent to commit serious indictable occasion actual bodily harm
- Take/detain in company w/i to ransom occasion actual bodily harm (two counts)
- Demand property with menaces
- Demand property with menaces with intent to steal (two counts)
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s) (two counts)
- Choke etc person intend to commit etc indictable offence (two counts)
- Robbery armed with an offensive weapon
- Common assault (two counts)
- Intentionally choke etc person with recklessness
- Break & enter intend to commit serious indictable offence
- Destroy or damage property
- Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (three counts)
- Demand property by force in company with intent to steal
- Aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-people there
- Aggravated break and enter with intent -in company-steal etc >$60K
- Steal motor vehicle
- Dispose motor vehicle part-theft=serious indictable offence > $5000
- Drive while disqualified
The man was refused bail to appear in Penrith Local Court today.
