VIC Premier

Labor is making sure families can enjoy an affordable day out with free entry for kids to Australia's largest Flower show.

Minister Spence today announced that all kids under 16 will go free to this year's Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.

The show opens on Wednesday 25 March and runs until Sunday 29 March at the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens.

More than 100,000 visitors experience the show across five-days, which will showcase floral displays, landscape design show gardens and artistic installations created by the best horticulturists in the world.

There's also retail products, expert speakers and hands-on workshops for budding gardeners to learn and develop their passion for plants and design.

The garden industry in Victoria employs over 11,000 people in roles like gardening retail, landscaping, turf production and floristry.

The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is one of the top five garden shows globally.

Visitors who have already purchased tickets for their children will automatically receive a refund.
