Kim Jong Un fires two long-range missiles

Nuclear-armed North Korea has test-fired two long-range strategic cruise missiles, with leader Kim Jong-un hailing another successful display of the country’s tactical nuclear strike capability, state media reported Thursday.

The new launches come after recent barrage of missiles fired over Japan heightening tension in the Korean peninsula.

Kim Jong Un personally oversaw the launches and the Korean Central News Agency said missiles successfully flew 2,000 kilometers over the sea. He expressed "great satisfaction", the agency reported.

North Korea said its recent missile tests were "tactical nuclear" drills to conduct a simulation of hitting the South.
