Kings wins Santander X

Wembley Stadium hosted yesterday's final of the Santander X Entrepreneurship Awards won by Josephine Philips, Physics graduate and founder of Sojo. Tackling sustainability in the fashion industry, Sojo provides a Deliveroo-style app for clothing alterations.

Santander X is the UK's largest student business competition with pitches from 70 businesses representing the top universities from all over the country for the opportunity to win £75,000 worth of business support including £50,000 of equity free seed funding.

The judging panel, who had a tough job of choosing a winner, was made up of leading figures including Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, former Olympian and entrepreneur, Yvonne Bajela, Oliver Kent-Braham and William Vereker, Chairman, Santander UK.

Huge congratulations to our winner Josephine Philips, Sojo App from the Entrepreneurship Institute run by Julie Devonshire at King's College London. Sojo App, which only started in January, has been a huge success with thousands of downloads already. Philips is clearly on a mission to revolutionise the fashion industry. What an exciting first year of running a business!
